Take some time to educate yourself properly

The best place to start when trying to educate oneself is by tackling basic maths, physics and chemistry - the sort of basic scientific education we all need for living in the 21st century. If you haven't got basic maths, physics and chemistry you will find it very difficult to read and understand medical and scientific papers.

After basic maths, physics and chemistry make an effort to learn basic anatomy and physiology. Then go to PubMed and read the literature. Look at the abstracts first - then follow up by reading the whole article if one can access it for free. Unfortunately, the biggest obstacle to intelligent research by the lay reader can be the cost of accessing the journal article.

None of this is particularly easy. It takes years to educate oneself not days or months. It requires dedication, will power and courage to educate oneself properly. But as Pope's couplet reminds us:

"A little learning is a dangerous thing. Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring".

Fluoridation is Ineffective & Harmful, studies show

Fluoridation Opposition is Scientific, Respectable and Growing

More than 3,700 professionals (including 322 dentists) urge that fluoridation be stopped citing scientific evidence that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay and has serious health risks. See statement: http://www.fluoridealert.org/statement.august.2007.html

Eleven US EPA unions representing over 7000 environmental and public health professionals are calling for a moratorium on fluoridation.

The CDC reports that 225 less communities adjusted for fluoride between 2006 and 2008. About 100 US and Canadian and NZ communities rejected fluoridation since 2008, including Fairbanks, Alaska, and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, this year.

NYC Councilman Peter Vallone, Jr introduced legislation to stop fluoridation in New York City
