Did Pak Butt Play Cricket Mischief?

The new Pakistani skipper Butt, assigned to task of reassembling the bones of the teams badly crushed by the hosts in Australia n Test-1, himself threw away his bat very early after making a meager number of runs. And he looked quite happy back to the pavilion too early. Usually, the Pak team collapses like bad cards when the first tow batsmen are out soon it s rare the batsmen gather energy to withstand the pressure. In the Test2 the second and third wickets fell almost together and Australia expected a possible collapse of the Pak team. Some how that did not happen and they are indeed nearing a historic victory.

My private question to Zardari-Gilani team: Why did not Butt play his usual game and in stead of foolishly hitting a nonsensical ball for nothing? Or, did Pak Butt play the usual cricket mischief? Did he think if he is out soon, other would follow suit as humbly as possible and lose the match as well? If so, Salman has been proven wrong. Others played much better than he perhaps had expected.

Chasing 180, Pakistan will be very happy with the way things have panned out for them, particularly after losing Butt early. Farhat and Azhar Ali batted well to put on a century stand as they were cruising towards a win. After being so patient for too long and trounced al efforts of Australia, Farhat seemingly lost his patience, failed to get his bat down in time and the ball sneaks through to crash into the off stump. He did not wait for the moment to overtake Australian batsmen who scored 77. Similarly, Amin gave away his bat for simple catch. Even though they still have 2 days to complete the match, they hurried to die down unnecessarily.

It seems if their captain is out without scoring enough runs, other Pakbatboys just follow his example and don’t try to win the match because they don’t want to “outsmart” or embarrass their captain. Is it not funny?

Also, Pakistan did not opt for the extra half an hour to try and win the game on Day3 itself and they could have done. But Pakistan has full 7 wickets at hind and will have to score 40 runs on Day 4 itself to achieve a historic win on July 23. One is not very sure if the Pakistani batsmen play would play cricket or mischief!
