Did Australia-Pak Underplay in Cricket Test-2?

In the first innings of the Pak-AustraliaTest-2 in Australia the entire Australian team collapsed for a meager 88, not many could reach the double digit. No team that has been dismissed for fewer than 100 in the first innings has won a Test since 1907. Hence it is possible Australia played under their ability only to as a mark of rebuke to Pakistani captain Afridi’s resignation from the Test taking responsibility for the pathetic performance in the Test-1.

In fact Pakistan played like trainees trying to learn cricket tricks. This was seen as a response to Pakistani team’s pathetic performance in the first Test. Pakistani commentators severely criticized the Pakistani team and Afridi’s performance his inability to use bat for runs and not just for 6s and 4s alone. Many criticized Afridi for being able to understand the difference between T20 and Test.

After a horrendous Day 1 they have fought their way back into this Test match and have opened things up heading into Day 3. Pakistan would be disappointed with their batting effort, after being 222/5 at one stage, they let things slip underneath by losing their last 5 wickets for just 36 runs. It appeared the batsmen threw away their bats either for fun for on remote instruction from galleries or dressing zone. They started off well with the ball picking up Katich very early but it has been a struggle since. Although the Pakbowlers managed to remove Watson, Ponting and Clarke did look rock solid to pull things back in Australia's favor. However, Aamer has his own plan to pull the curtain in Pakistan’s favor. So, Ponting, North and Hussey departed leaving their team in nearby disaster.

Of course the Test-2 is on its way and Australia is playing the second innings and Pakistan would resume its innings after that. How the match would end needs to be watched. Is there any hidden agenda between them? Pakistan is way behind the so-called ranking for Test, while Australia is very close to the top.
