iWave Systems Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a leading embedded turnkey design house in Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India, has recently launched High performance, low power SOM (System-on-Module) with form factor 70mm x 70mm based on Freescale’s i.MX51 processor. The i.MX51 processor features advanced and power-efficient implementation of the ARM Cortex™-A8 core, which operates at 800 MHz.

iW-i.MX51 SOM is ready-to-integrate CPU Module with flexible I/O interfaces for the Industrial, Medical, Digital Signage and Ultra-low-power applications.

The Design is equipped with up to 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM, 2GB NAND Flash & 2MB NOR Flash for memory & Onboard I/O Interfaces for USB 2.0 Host/Device, microSD, UART interface (Debug) and JTAG for Processor. To provide advanced peripheral integration, this module has a 230 pin Edge Connector & expansion connectors.
The unique & exciting feature in this SOM is the support of Dual camera & Dual display.

A complete reference design iW-RainboW-G8, using this module is available with the BSP support for Linux.
